The gang's back: Werewolves, vampires and all

"Breaking Dawn" (Little, Brown and Company, 754 pages, $22.99) by Stephenie Meyer: The heartbreakingly beautiful vampires, patriotic werewolves and emotionally torn humans ar back for one last round in "Breaking Dawn," the fourth and lowest installment in the fanatically loved "Twilight Saga" series.

It's a rule book with some surprises. But the big event takes place near the tale's beginning, going away the rest of the pages free to detail (and detail, and detail) the shockwaves.

Like the other books in the series, "Breaking Dawn" is a story of a community of vampires living relatively peacefully among humans. It examine what happens when a lamia and human fall in love, and the implications for their friendships, families, and life itself.

Fans will enjoy a satisfying exploration of the relationship of the lamia Edward, the human Bella and the werewolf Jacob - a relationship reeling from a real curveball. The look at Bella and Edward takes the issues of freewill, sacrifice and egoism to a new level.

Meanwhile the folks of Forks, Wash., where the vampires have set, have their own problems as the tenuous pact between the vampires and werewolves is tested, stretched, and re-tested.

Series fans testament find much here to love: piquant characters, dandy humor, a distracting obsession with beaut, focus on the minutiae of emotions.

But casual readers may thwarted with a lot of build-up and little action.

BIG BROTHER: Battle Of The Bust Ups!

Another day, another Big Brother row, and recent tensions have not been a let down, especially during the task. But that’s not the only thing causing upsets in the house. Groups are already beginning to form.

As usual, Alex was at the centre of the majority of the rows. She argued with Rex when she selfishly declared she was quitting the task, even after the housemates had taken a vote to carry on. Understandably Rex was a little irritated by Alex’s behavior and we all know by now that Alex doesn’t like to be questioned. She let rip with one of her lectures about how if she wants to stop she will and nobody tells her what to do!

With tensions high between Alex and Rex they had a further row when Rex ‘dared’ to send Darnell to ask for Alex’s lighter – Alex ‘politely’ replied that he couldn’t use it. Later on when Rex picked up her lighter Alex retaliated by snatching the lighter back and sharing another rant about how she has earned every thing in her life, which she later privileged BB to as well.

Away from the confrontation machine that is Alex, Rachel and Dennis had a falling out as the camp dancer felt chatterbox Rachel was ‘patronizing’ him. However, the fireworks failed to start and after Dennis started crying, he and Rachel hugged and made up – disappointing!

Amongst all this arguing, there was also plenty of time for a bit of good old fashion bitching! Mario, Lisa and Alex were, unsurprisingly, having a pop at Steph for as Mario put it “not making much of an effort” Hmm! Then later on Rex and Stephanie were in the bedroom bitching about the house’s real-life couple – Steph feels that they don’t like her, as Lisa keeps giving her evils – there is going to be one massive bust-up when this comes to a head!

Who in the house do you think will have the biggest argument? Be sure to leave your comments below.

McCrary Hits Back At Steffans' Assault Claims

Latest: Actor Darius McCrary has filed a restraining order against estranged girlfriend Karrine 'Superhead' Steffans, refuting her recent allegations of vehicular assault. Last Thursday , the former X-rated actress-turned-author filed a police report against McCrary, accusing him of hitting her with his car and injuring her right foot. He adds, "She started beating my vehicle and windows", before trying to break the car windows "with her fist". In a separate incident, he accuses Steffans of abusing him: "(She) slapped me so hard that she hit a bystander." After goth pioneers the Birthday Party called it quits in 1983, singer/songwriter Nick Cave assembled the Bad Seeds, a post-punk supergroup featuring sometime Birthday Party guitarist Mick Harvey on drums, ex-Magazine bassist Barry Adamson, and Einstürzende Neubauten guitarist Blixa Bargeld. With the Bad Seeds, Cave continued to explore his obsessions with religion, dying, dear, America, and violence with a outlandish, sometimes self-consciously eclecticist hybrid of vapours, gospel, rock 'n' roll, and arty post-punk, although in a more subdued fashion than his work with the Birthday Party. Cave besides allowed his literary aspirations to come to the forefront; the lyrics ar story prose, heavy on literary allusions and myth-making, and take some divine guidance from Leonard Cohen. Cave's gloomful lyrics, dark musical arrangements, and deep baritone horn voice recall the albums of Scott Walker, world Health Organization likewise obsessed over death and honey with a terrorisation passion. However, Cave brings a brawny amount of post-punk experimentalism to Walker's epic dark pop.

Spelunk released his commencement album with the Bad Seeds, From Her to Eternity, in 1984, which contained a noteworthy cover of Elvis Presley's "In the Ghetto," foreshadowing much of Cave's style and topic topic on the followup The Firstborn Is Dead. Kicking Against the Pricks, an all-covers record album, bust the dance orchestra in England with the aid of "The Singer," which rack up number one on the U.K. independent charts. The record album too reinforced Cave's reputation as an original interpreter and a vocal styler of note.

Following 1986's Your Funeral...My Trial, Cave took a two-year foramen from recording, partially to appear in Wim Wenders' 1987 photographic film Wings of Desire, and then returned with Fond Prey, which featured Cramps guitar player Kid Congo Powers and Cave's strongest vocal performance up to that point. Cave's productivity picked up vastly over the next two years subsequently he kicked a heroin habit. He had deuce books (1988's King Ink, a assemblage of lyrics, plays, and prose, and 1989's And the Ass Saw the Angel, a novel) promulgated; appeared in the 1989 Australian photographic film Ghosts...of the Civil Dead as a captive; recorded a soundtrack to the plastic film with Harvey and Bargeld; and released 1990's The Good Son, his most relaxed, quiet album. Cave received his ascribable as one of the ahead figures in alternative rock when he was invited to perform on the 1994 edition of the Lollapalooza turn to raise his Let Love In record album. Early in 1996, he released Remove Ballads, a assemblage of songs about murder. Mangle Ballads became Cave's most commercially successful album to date, and, with typical contrariness, he followed it with the introverted and personal The Boatman's Call in early 1997. A spoken word release, Privy Life of the Love Song, followed in 1999. Two years later, a rejuvenated Cave teamed up with the Bad Seeds once again for the piano-laden No More Shall We Part. Nocturama was released in 2003, and the double-album Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus followed by the end of 2004.
